Yvonne Apodaca, 62, was greeted with wide open arms by our Lord in heaven, along with her daughter Vanessa and mother Toni, eagerly waiting their turn to embrace her and welcome her home on May 13, 2023. Yvonne was born on February 18, 1961, to Wilfred and Toni Sanchez. Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Toni Sanchez, father-in-law Benny Apodaca, mother-in-law Mela Romero, brother Frederick Sanchez and daughter Vanessa Olguin. Yvonne was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunty. Yvonne raised her children with love and devotion in Albuquerque, NM, alongside her husband, Frank Apodaca, of 45 years.
Yvonne passed away unexpectedly six weeks after her daughter Vanessa’s death. She leaves behind a grieving family her husband, Frank Apodaca; two children, Matthew Apodaca, wife Munnaie; Michelle Chimento, husband Tony; Son-In-law Simon Olguin and her grandchildren, Briana Olguin, Elise Olguin, Lizzie Olguin, Simoncito Olguin, Marisa Apodaca, Lilly Apodaca, Rory Apodaca, and Olivia Apodaca-Chimento. Brother Willie Sanchez, wife Hsin Wan; sister, Penny Barber, husband Dave; brother David Sanchez, wife Lorraine; sister, Terry Gow; husband Bobby, brother Gilbert Sanchez, wife Martha; sister Charlene Alarcon, husband David; sister-in-law Ramona Romero, husband Fidel and numerous nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was the glue to her family, always wanting to celebrate every occasion or just to hang out. She enjoyed having company over. She was a woman who welcomed many people in her life and home. She loved her family more than anything else, especially her grandchildren. Yvonne will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Trujillo Family Funeral Home Chapel 110 Alvarado Dr SE. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Final visitation will be held 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St Anne’s Catholic Church 1400 Arenal Rd SW with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow the communion service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd, NE.
Pallbearers will be Fidel Romero Sr; Eric Romero Sr., Eric Romero Jr., Adam Candelaria, Simon Olguin, Tony Chimento, Vinnie Chimento, Chris Sanchez, Rory Apodaca and Joseph Sena. Honorary pallbearers will be Kathleen Romero, Mary Candelaria, Eloy Candelaria, Christopher Arguelles and Fidel Romero Jr.
