It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Gonzales Arviso Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. William passed away on July 18, 2024, at the age of 66 surrounded by his loving family.
William was born on May 28, 1958, in Chula Vista, California to the late William B. Arviso Sr and Maria Carreras. William served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. After leaving the Army he taught at Luna Vocational Institute in Las Vegas, NM where he taught classes for Automotive Technician and also worked for Phelps Dodge Copper mines in Ajo,Az, he continued to live a life full of passion and joy. A devoted family man, William cherished his role as a husband to Amada Arviso and as a father to his three children: Jose, Ciji, and Billy. He was also a loving grandfather, who found immense happiness in spending time with his grandchildren. William had a zest for life that was evident in his love for riding his Harley with Amada by his side, fishing, and being in the company of his family. His kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
William is survived by the love of life his wife, Amada Arviso; his mother Maria Carreras his children an their spouses, Jose and wife Maria Arviso of Albuquerque,NM, Ciji Methola and husband Frank of Carlsbad,NM , and Billy Arviso and wife Bernadette of Belen,NM; and his grandchildren Hailey, JJ, Adrian, Ezekiel, Jayden, Gigi and Liam; He is also survived by two brothers Victor Arviso and Ronnie Arviso and wife Susan, two sisters Becky Martinez and husband Joe, and Patricia Arviso all of Ajo, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his father William Arviso Sr., Step father Emilio Carreras and little brother Jesus ( Jessie) Carreras.
His legacy of love and strength will continue to live in the hearts of his family and friends. Services to celebrate William’s life will be held on August 17th with rosary starting at 10:30 am and Mass to follow at San Jose Catholic church in Anton Chico,NM Pall bears are Val Tenorio, Margarito Lopez, Eugene Methola, Herald Baca, Randy Tenorio, and Cliff Figler: Honorary Pall bears with be his grandchildren
Meal to follow at Fire Department in Anton Chico,NM Burial Mass will be at a later date in Santa Fe,NM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery Funeral Services are under the direction of Trujillo Funeral home of Albuquerque, NM.
