Virginia (Jeane) J. Estrada

Virginia (Jeane) J. Estrada, 72, of Artesia, New Mexico was called Home by our Lord and Savior
September 11, 2023 in Albuquerque at her daughter Stephanie’s residence.
She was born April 12,1951 to the late Joe M. and Maria J. Estrada. She attended Artesia High School
and later graduated with an Associate Degree from New Mexico State University in Carlsbad, New
Mexico. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church.
During her time in Artesia, she touched the lives of countless children, their parents, and the church
community through her work in the nursery at First Baptist Church. She loved everything Artesia
Bulldogs window shopping, and money green.
Jeane learned the game of golf from her father, Joe, who was the first Golf Professional at Artesia
Country Club. She was a lifetime member of Artesia Country Club and golf was her passion. She played
in many tournaments around New Mexico and won several Club Championships. She taught her
children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren how to play. She worked in the Pro Shop for twenty-
four years always smiling, being encouraging, and enjoyed catching up with the golf players.
Jeane is survived by her sister Estella Estrada Hernandez; her children, Stephanie, Greg, and Karyn
Estrada; her grandchildren, Sigourney and Alexis Estrada; Jonathan, Samuel, and Jeremiah Perez;
Michael and Bryan Jimenez; Anthony Estrada; Ashley and Adrianna Estrada, Daniel Chavez III,and
Kamryn Mascorro. She had sixteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jesus J. Estrada.
A viewing and celebration of life will be held at Trujillo Family Funeral Home Friday, September 29, 2023
from 3p.m. to 5p.m. located at 110 Alvarado Drive SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108. Cremation will
follow. A memorial will be held in Artesia, New Mexico at a later time.
