Viola Sweeney

On September 14, 1940, Viola Sweeney, was born in Las Vegas, NM. Viola
married John Sweeney, Sr on September 3, 1960. They had a total of five
children. Viola moved to Aztec, Santa Fe, and eventually settled in
Albuquerque where she has lived since 1970. She worked for APS for 30 years
and eventually retired in 2005. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma,
sister and aunt. She enjoyed family time, dancing and cooking. Viola joined
loved ones in Heaven on January 11, 2024 to be with her Lord.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband, John Sweeney Sr, her parents,
Ralph and Marcella Ciddio, her daughter, Loretta Sweeney; two sons, Ralph
Sweeney and John Sweeney Jr and two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her son Theodore G. Sweeney; her daughter, Shelly
Schancer and husband Kory; grandchildren, Crystal Martinez and husband,
Casey, John Sweeney III and wife, Kristen, Brittany Sweeney, Brandon
Sweeney, Cameron Sweeney, Taylor Schancer, Levi Schancer, and Chelsea
Browning; along with her 12 great-grandchildren. Viola is also survived by her
sister, Angie Abeyta.

We will forever miss her!
Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 19, 2024 with
a 12:00 p.m. viewing, Rosary at 12:30pm and Mass at 1:00pm at St. Jude
Thaddeus Catholic Church located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 following Mass at
Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
