Vernon David Goldberg, “David”, was taken home by an angel on August 31,2024 after being struck the previous week while riding his bicycle. His injuries were simply too grave. An investigation is ongoing into the exact circumstances of his passing.

David was born in Alexandria, LA on January 18,1973 to Patrcia Graves and Terry Glenn Bounds. Becoming a survivor at a young age out of necessity, he joined the Marines in 1993. They became his family. He proudly served his country at Camp LeJeuene as a competitive shooter, range manager as well as teacher. He was always comfortable having troops under him and was an effective leader. His life was the Corps. Puerto Rico was his favorite place to go. A helicopter crash cut his career short in 2001 and he was medically discharged shortly after 9/11. He started over in Texas, first working for Carter’s Country as a Range Manager then as a Bail Agent and Bounty Hunter in Conroe, Texas, for AAAA Discount Bail Bonds. He filmed two episodes with Dog the Bounty Hunter in 2015 and it was the highlight of his time with the company.

March 28,2016, David and Michelle Massey were married in Artillery Park at Jackson Square in New Orleans, LA. They enjoyed a happy partnership filled with adventures to Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, many states and Texas landmarks. Life was good. In 2022, he and Michelle made the leap and sold their home in Conroe, moving to Albuquerque, NM. He was immediately hired to work security with Securitas. He went to the city for a few months but returned to Securitas. He was currently employed with them at the time of his death. His dream was to run for Mayor of Albuquerque. Having survived cancer recently, he had many hopes for the future. He thoroughly loved living in New Mexico and loved his circle of work friends (Rebecca MacDaniel, Ben Monsivais).

Left to mourn him are his wife, Michelle Massey-Goldberg, of Albuquerque, NM. Dogs Lily and Mina. Cat Bowie.

Mother Patricia Graves of Port Arthur, Texas and sister Tasha Graves of Nederland, Texas.

Brother, Grant Bounds and wife Nancy Bounds of Hineston, LA as well as niece Kirstianna Bounds, nephews Blake Bounds and Xander Bounds of Hineston, LA.

Daughter Melanie Hicks of Houston, Texas; Step children Amelia Martin of Houston, Texas; step- son Aaron Herrera of Albuquerque, NM and step-daughter Rachel Meisetschlaeger of Magnolia, Texas.

Grandsons Noah and Zane Rodriguez of Houston, Texas.

Special lifelong friends Sammy and Amy Gore of Port Neches. Too many friends to list as David was well loved. He will be greatly missed.
