Thomas M. Montoya, also known affectionately as Tom, Tommy, and Uncle Tony, passed away after a long illness. His presence in the lives of many was significant, leaving lasting memories and a collection of stories that will be cherished forever.
Tom was the younger brother of Kevin & Racheal Davis, Cindy Sandelin, and Amy Roberts. Throughout his life, he cultivated numerous friendships and love connections that brought joy and fulfillment to his days. Known for a lighthearted running joke about money owed, Tom had a way of bringing humor into every interaction.
An enthusiast of New Mexico history, Tom's passion could have easily led him to become a great historian. He shared his wisdom generously with those around him, always offering insights that were valued by all who knew him.
Left to honor his memory are his nieces Tara Buhring, Vanessa & James Sanchez, Amanda & Josh Montoya, and Megan & Christopher Pilmaier. He is preceded by his nephew Adam Montoya. In addition to these beloved family members, Tom leaves behind great-nephews and great-nieces: Phillip, Emily, Michael Pilmaier; and Liam Montoya.
In the hearts of those he touched, Thomas M. Montoya will forever remain a cherished presence, remembered for his kindness, humor, and love for history. May he rest in peace.
