Slyvia Guerra

Sylvia Guerra, 64 of Grants, NM departed her loving family peacefully in her home after an unfortunate battle with cancer on Sunday, July 30th, 2023.

She was born on January 13th, 1959, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Gregoria and Andres Guerra.

Sylvia will always be remembered as a kindhearted and loving individual. She was a devoted woman who enjoyed making others smile. Her hobbies included cooking, vacationing with her family, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and being with her dogs. She was most known for her excellent cooking and pranking personality.

She is survived by her children - Jaclyn Medina (John Medina), Krissy Fajardo (Patrick Fajardo), Billy Boy Saavedra (Candace Dillon) and Sonia Aguilar (Paul Aguilar), her grandchildren – Jayden and Joshua Medina, Dominique Navarro, Shantell Saavedra, Cecilia Saavedra, Anjolee Saavedra, Natalie McNeil  – and her two great-grandchildren – Kattaleia and Khaira Navarro. Also, lifelong companion Billy Saavedra Sr.

Sylvia is also survived by her sisters – Nelly Ramirez (Bobby Ramirez), Angela Ramos (Frank Ramos), Hortencia Guerra, Alma Carlos Guerra, Lori Pinedo (Augustine Pinedo), her brothers – Richard Guerra, Jaime Guerra (Gracie Guerra), along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends to include Teri Jaramillo who was very special to her and held a special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Renee Saavedra, parents Gregoria and Andres Guerra, her brothers Andy and Willie Guerra.

A celebration of life will take place at the The Way, Truth & Life Ministries in Grants, NM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 10am with a procession to San Rafael Cemetery. The reception will be held immediately following at the San Rafael Church Hall.
