Santiago Miguel Martinez

Santiago Miguel Martinez left this world far too soon on May 30, 2024, at the age of 46.

Born on October 21, 1977, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Santiago’s caring and helpful nature made him a cherished son, grandson, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. 

Santiago was known to help both family and friends whenever in need. He was a proud father and loved his family and friends. A “Mr. Fix It” he was known to fix just about anything thought to be broken from appliances to household items. Known to be a jokester, he was always good for a laugh. His infectious laugh and unwavering support will be sorely missed.

His hobbies included drawing and woodworking. He loved music and loved to drive around in his car listening to his favorite songs. A nature lover, Santiago enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing and hunting. He also loved to search for unique rocks and stones and give them out to friends and family.  

Santiago is survived by his devoted parents Louisa Mascarenas and Rudy Martinez; his step-mother Gloria Martinez; his children Santiago, Dominique and Elijah; his siblings Andres, Margarita and Salvador Martinez; his grandmother Flora Mascarenas; as well as many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends who cherished his presence in their lives and will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his cherished brother Rudy Martinez and his loving nephew Isaiah Cordova. 

A Rosary in honor of Santiago will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:15 am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.

A memorial mass will immediately follow the rosary at 11:00 am followed by a burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87102.

A reception will be held at Rosario Hall directly across the courtyard from the church following the burial where food and refreshments will be provided.
