It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruben Lovato on December 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his beloved Father, Rudy Ruben Lovato Sr., his Mother Beatrice Lovato, and his sister Michelle Lovato Cantu. Ruben's departure from this world has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Ruben was born in Los Angeles, California, but it was in New Mexico where he found his true sense of home. Raised by his grandmother, Dolores Chavez, Ruben cherished their bond and always carried her love and guidance within him. His graduation from West Mesa High School in 1990 brought great pride to both himself and his grandmother.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother Valentine Jelacio Lovato and wife, sister Crystal Munoz, his beloved grandmother Dolores Chavez, as well as various uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Among them were Uncle Dewey Chavez and wife Aunt Diana, Uncle Tony and wife Aunt Stella, Aunt Patsy Jaramillo, Aunt Margaret and husband Uncle Frank, Aunt Gloria, and Jenny.
Ruben had a special place in his heart for his niece Angel. Her daughter Lilly was truly the apple of his eye. He delighted in playing with Lilly and she reciprocated her affection for him in her own way. Her loss is deeply felt by Ruben's family.
One aspect of Ruben's life that stood out to all who knew him was his remarkable talent as an artist. He possessed a natural ability to create beautiful artwork through drawing. This gift brought joy not only to himself but also those fortunate enough to witness the fruits of his creativity.
In leisurely moments, Ruben enjoyed accompanying his aunt and grandma on trips to the casino. These outings filled his heart with happiness, and the memories made during those times will forever be cherished by his loved ones.
The void left by Ruben's absence has left a profound impact on all those who were fortunate to know him. He will be remembered for his warm heart, artistic talent, and the love he shared with his family.
The funeral service to honor Ruben Lovato's life will take place on December 30, 2023, at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Cathedral located at 1001 Barelas Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM USA 87102. Following the service, the funeral procession will proceed to San Jose De Armijo Cemetery to lay Ruben to rest.
