Robert Samuel Sanchez

Robert Samuel Sanchez, Jr., known as “Bob”, Age 87, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on 09/13/24 at 4:30am. Robert was born January 31 st , 1937, in Estancia, New Mexico, the son of Robert Sanchez, Sr and Filomena Gallegos. 

Robert graduated from Estancia High School in 1954, then went on to St Joesph’s College and UNM, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree Public Administration. 

Robert was drafted into the military to serve in the Vietnam war and served until honorably until his discharge. 

Robert worked at several high-level government positions and dedicated his life to Public Service.

Robert enjoyed Golf, The Raiders and his family. He was extremely active and loved to run and even ran a couple marathons in his 50’s! 

Remaining to cherish Bob’s memory are children, Suzy Sanchez, Robert Sanchez and Carlos Sanchez; grandchildren, Britny Sanchez, Robert Santana Sanchez, Jolissa Landeros, Zachary Allen and Hailey Allen; great-grandchildren, Landon De La O, Braelynn De La O and Cora DeLa O; sister, Margaret Sanchez; as well as numerous close friends, including his dear friend Archie Stannish.

Preceding Bob in death are his parents Robert and Filomena as well as his sister Susanna who we are so excited he will finally get to meet as she died very young.

Rosary will be held 09/27/24 at 8:15am at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande. Funeral/Memorial services will be after at 9am, with Clergy officiating. Interment will be in Estancia, NM.
