Rachel Ponce

Rachel Ponce, 69, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10, 2024, at Calvary Church in Albuquerque, NM. A reception from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, will immediately follow. 

Rachel was born to Rey and Jennie Gonzales on June 20,1954, in Silver City, NM. She grew up in Bayard and graduated from Cobre High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Jesse G. Ponce on May 29,1976. 

Rachel loved The Lord and shared her faith with everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed being crafty, and making salsa and breakfast burritos … but her greatest accomplishment and titles were Wife, Mom and Grammy! 

Rachel is survived by her husband Jesse Ponce; daughter, Jessica Jaramillo (JJ: Son-in-Love); son, Gabriel Ponce; grandsons- Tao, Isaac and Zacary Abeyta; sisters, Rebecca (Danny)Castillo and Rozenda Limon both of Silver City, NM; brother-in-laws, Bob (Virginia) Ponce and Gary (Lorraine) Ponce also both of Silver City, NM and many nieces and nephews she adored. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Reymundo Gonzales of Silver City, NM; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jess B and Mary Ponce of Silver city, NM; her granddaughter, Estrella Abeyta and grandson, David Abeyta.
