Peggy B. Romero

Peggy B. Romero, age 88, of Rio Rancho NM, was called by our Lord at her residence on Sunday, February 19^th, 2023.

Peggy was born May 15^th, 1934, in Peralta, New Mexico, to the late Enriques and Eudelia Baca.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Andres Romero; late son, LeRoy Romero; late daughters Gloria Reider and Cynthia Chavez; and late granddaughter, Amanda Decker. She is survived by daughters Doris Marquez (Rudy) and Lisa Burbridge (Doug); sons Richard Romero (Maria) and Carl Reider (Andi); granddaughter Christy Baca (Jason) as well as many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Peggy was always very welcoming to everyone she met.  She was an amazing cook; her red and green chili, homemade tortillas, sweet rice and natillas were legendary.  No one ever left hungry when visiting Peggy.  Peggy would always make time for everyone who crossed her path.

Peggy was a strong person of faith.  That faith was tested as she experienced many trials and tribulations with loss of her son at age 18 and daughter at age 23.  She questioned why God would make her suffer such pain and wondered if she would ever see her children again.  Now that Peggy has passed, the family takes comfort knowing that she is reunited with her family, that God has answered her questions and that she is with the angels in heaven.

Although our world seems a bit dimmer today, there is no doubt that stars in heaven burn a bit brighter with Peggy.

Services will be held for Peggy on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at San Clemente Catholic Church, 244 Luna Ave SE, Los Lunas, NM 87031.  Visitation will be at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. 

Burial will be in Deming NM on Friday, February 24, 2023.  A visitation service will be held at Baca’s Funeral Chapels, 811 S Gold Ave, Deming, NM 88030 at 1:00 PM and Burial at Mountain View Cemetery, 3410 E Pine St, Deming, NM 88030 at 2:30 PM.
