Peter Chavez, aged 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at his home. He was born to Pedro and Josie Chavez and is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Liz Chavez; his Daughter Susan and son, Peter Chavez; his siblings, Philip, Martha, and Mary Ellen; and his parents.
Peter’s life was a testament to hard work and devotion to family. He attended Albuquerque High School and pursued a successful career as an electrician. His work at the Albuquerque airport and his role in opening the Double Eagle Airport highlighted his commitment to his profession and his community. After many years of dedicated service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of excellence.
In 1964, Peter started a family that would grow to be his greatest pride. He is survived by his children: Paul Chavez and his wife, Yvette; Annette Trujillo and her husband, Pat; Michelle Martinez; Michael Martinez and his wife, Roberta; Joshua Chavez and Alejandra; and Jacob Chavez and Marissa. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Peter was a man of humble spirit and generous heart, always willing to lend a hand or give the shirt off his back to those in need. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and fishing, and he found immense joy in caring for his animals.
Services will be at holy Rosary Saturday, February 8, 2025 with the rosary starting 1015 and the mass starting at 11 , where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and the countless memories he created.
