Michael A. Young, a loving and devoted husband, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Michael chose to raise his family for over 30 years in North Berwick, Maine.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Lisa P. Young, and their three children: son, Michael Young (wife, Yvette Young); daughter, Heather Hogan (husband, Christopher Hogan); and daughter, Niomi Deroy. He also leaves behind his younger brother, Mark Young; his aunt, Jackie; and his goddaughter, Kelsey Lyford, who were all dearly loved. Michael was a proud Papa to nine talented grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, and several nieces & nephews whom he deeply adored.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Mr. Thomas and Barbara Young, as well as his brother, Mr. Thomas Young. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Mr. Gerard Raymond Sr. and Carol Raymond, and his brother-in-law, Gerard Raymond Jr.
Michael’s love and commitment were truly admirable, as this year he celebrated his 44th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Lisa. His hobbies included riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and working on mechanics, but anyone who knew him understood that his world revolved around the love of his life, Lisa. Michael was adored by all who knew him for his distinctive laugh and honorable friendship.
After retiring, Michael concluded years of loyal service to SCS Engineers and traveled with his wife and settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beyond his professional accolades, he was cherished for his sharp wit, humor, and boundless curiosity, which he generously shared with everyone he encountered. Michael’s legacy will live on through his wife, his children, & his beloved dog Zeus, and the indelible impact he left on all who knew him.
