Matilda "Matti" Diane Brown, 67, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away June 14, 2022. She is survived by her children, Andrea Huber and husband, Joshua, Steven Brown, and Cassandra Brown; cousin (who was like a sister), JoAnna Pepe; nephews, Nick DelCampo and Dylan DelCampo; and many other relatives and friends. Matti was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years until his passing, Gerard Brown; mother, Diane DelCampo; father, Joseph DelCampo; step-mother, Hildegard DelCampo; and brother, Joseph DelCampo.
Born in 1954 in Brooklyn, NY, she grew up on Long Island and moved to New Mexico to attend UNM where she graduated in 1976 with a BA in Art Education. Matti was a devoted teacher for many years, and most recently a Residential Instructor for ARCA for 17 years before retiring in January 2022. In addition to being an incredible artist, cook, and gardener, Matti was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 9am at Holy Family Parish, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, Albuquerque NM, 87105, followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited the evening prior at 7pm at Holy Family.
