Mateo Jesus Lopez was unexpectedly taken from us on October 31, 2022 at the young age of 20.
Mateo was born December 19, 2001 and grew up in Albuquerque, NM with his father Jesus Lopez, mother Renee Lopez and 5 siblings, Desiree Lopez Jesus Lopez Jr, Jesse Lopez, Mia Lopez and Salina Lopez. He attended Rio Grande High School where he excelled in sports and physical activities. He will be remembered by his love and passion for sports especially fishing, hunting and basically anything that had to do with the outdoors. Spending time with the ones he loved was so important to him and the love he had for his family will never be forgotten. Anyone who was blessed to know him will forever be touched by his outgoing nature and unique personality. Mateo was a protector and would be there for those he cared for without hesitation. He had a beautiful smile that would light up the room. His smile would never fade and he made sure to always let his family know how much he loved them. He was so strong and always worked hard for what he wanted to achieve in life. Mateo had so much energy and was full of life and was looking forward to a promising future. It is not fair that a beautiful soul like his was taken so soon. Mateo’s absence has left an undeniable void in all of our hearts and our lives will never be the same without him. Mateo was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mateo is survived by his parents Jesus and Renee Lopez, Sibilings, Desiree Lopez , Jesus Jr (JJ) Lopez, Jesse Lopez, Mia Lopez, and Salina Lopez , his Fiance Marissa Jaramillo, Brother in Law Luis Parrilla ,Sister in law Misty Lopez,¹¹ one Niece Analize Lopez (Bella),Nephews, Luis Jesus Parrilla -Lopez, Jesus Lopez III , Angelo Parrilla Lopez, and Vicente Parrilla Lopez, Grandparents Dorothy Gordon, Darlene Castillo, Billy and Patricia Romero, and Robert Lopez.

In honoring the family’s request, the services will be taken care of by the Trujillo Family Funeral Home of Albuquerque on Thursday November 10, 2022 with the viewing from 2-3, Rosary from 3. Burial service date is TBD following cremation . At that time we will have a reception on that day.
