Mary Jane Felix

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Jane Felix, age 84, entered the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully surrounded by her family. 

She was born on June 24, 1939, in Madrid, NM to parents, Phil Felix, Pola “Pauline” Wright and stepfather, Carlos Giron. Mary Jane was the matriarch and left such a beautiful, strong legacy. She was the perfect example of YHVH’s love through her generosity, kindness, and compassion for many. Her love for the Lord was evident through her desire to worship, sing, dance and read scripture. Being a faithful prayer warrior, not ashamed to tell others about the Lord, and creating a solid foundation for her generations; these are the things that defined the beautiful woman she was and always will be. Her love was always displayed through her cooking and baking biscochitos for loved ones. Her hobbies included bowling in her younger days, coloring pictures, watching a variety of shows, and listening to teachings. Mary Jane was known as Mom, Mama, Madre, My Lady, Grandma, GG, and Sis. 

Mary Jane was blessed with her three daughters; Geri Montaño (spouse Fred), Donna Martinez (spouse Daniel) and Madelene Artiaga (spouse George) and two sons; Danny Cantu (spouse DawnDee) and Jeremy Cantu (spouse Rhonda). Her 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren who are the jewels of her crown. Her two sisters; Rita Vargas (brother-in-law Ernie) and Theresa Roybal (brother-in-law David) and two brothers; Bill Felix (sister-in-law Susan) and Carlos “Chuck” Giron; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Felix and former husband Arthur Cantu. 

Viewing and burial will be held Monday, February 12th from 10am-12pm at B’nei Tzion Olim; 2410 San Mateo Pl NE Albuquerque, NM 87110. Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery; 417 East Rodeo Rd Santa Fe, NM 87505. Celebration of Life and reception will be Saturday, February 24th from 11am-2pm at South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center; 2008 Larrazolo Rd SW Albuquerque, NM 87105.
