Levi "Charlie" Williamson

March 23, 1953 — January 22, 2024

Coach Levi “Charlie” Williamson, age 70, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, of natural causes.
Levi “Coach Charlie” Williamson will live forever in the hearts of his wife, Kathleen, whom he married in August 8, 2008; his two sons, “Oi” Kale Micah Kamikioi Kekilani and “Sol” Solomon John Kaulanamahi Kekilani; daughter and daughter in law, Love and Nicole Vazquez; his three grandchildren Ku’uipo, Halia, Starlani; his puppy Anuenue; brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, other relatives, many friends and ohana living in Hawaii, New Mexico and all over the world. He was born March 23rd, 1953, in Kaunakakai, a small town on the island of Moloka’i, Hawai’i, to the late Shirley and Howard Kimokeo.  He attended Campbell High School.  After high school, he joined the Hawaiian Renaissance movement and
became a crewmember aboard the Hōkūleʻa where he was known for his beautiful tenor voice. He continued on the vessel until he found his calling
coaching high school football and wrestling at Castle, Pearl City, Farrington and Kamehameha schools. He served as a park ranger for the Boy Scouts of America, Hawaii Chapter.  He also worked as a security officer at The Hale Koa Hotel, Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Discovery Bay and Duty Free Hawaii. He created the most beautiful music, played ukulele and sang for his church, and men’s ministry. During his coaching career in Hawaii, he touched the lives of countless youth. He was a champion for the underdog and created the Alternative Learning Program funded by the Boy Scouts that helped “at risk” students. He started the strength and endurance program at Farrington High School where he housed students during the summer to get them off the streets and help them in their athletic journey. Generation after generation learned the value of teamwork and resilience both on and off the field. He was a great cook and you could feel the love in all his dishes; pork and watercress soup, chicken adobo, and his famous teriyaki burgers were his signature meal. Most of all, he loved creating and playing music for the Lord. For those that knew him, he will forever be remembered for his beautiful voice, intense handshake, caring and giving nature. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Farrington High School Auditorium. Visitation: 1:00 p.m.; Service: 2:00 p.m.
