LeRoy Baca

LeRoy Baca passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 81 in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 25, 1943, LeRoy graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1961 and soon after joined the US Navy, where he served honorably until 1967. Post-military, he embarked on a career with the New Mexico Department of Labor, from which he retired and later joined Westland Development Co.

LeRoy was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and constant joking, paired with an unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed the horse races, working on his home and yard, and indoor flea markets and cherished the time spent with his family.

LeRoy is survived by his brother Willie; son Nathaniel and his wife Angela; grandchildren Isaiah, Mariah, Ezra, and Brooke; niece Ginger and her husband Tom Gomez; niece Erika and her husband Kevin O'Leary; nephew Charles and his wife Cindy vonHentschel; niece Rebecca vonHentschel; and many cousins, great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie B. and Rose G. Baca; his sister Doris and brother-in-law Charles "Chuck" vonHentschel; and his brother Jose R. Baca.
