Kevin W. Sinkey, age 53, peacefully passed away and joined the heavenly kingdom on November 11th, 2023. Born on March 18th, 1970, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved mother, Dottie Sinkey, his caring sister E. Dawn Armijo and her husband David, as well as his brother Greg Sinkey and his wife Sharon.
Kevin was a loving uncle to his niece Deanna Sinkey and her two sons Joshua and Leo. He had a special place in his heart for his father and mother-in-law, Frank and Ann Bristol, along with their son Frank Jr. and their entire family. In addition to these precious relationships, Kevin leaves behind six maternal aunts, three uncles, many cousins, other family members, and countless friends who held him dear.
Kevin's journey was not without heartaches as he experienced the loss of his beloved wife Tracy Sinkey to cancer on September 21st, 2023. Their unbreakable bond was evident throughout their marriage as he devotedly stood by her side during her battle against the illness. Tracy’s absence has left an immense void in Kevin's heart.
Throughout his life, Kevin found fulfillment in working as a mechanic for over three decades. Fixing things came naturally to him – it was a part of who he was; it ran in his blood. His expertise extended beyond machines to include the handy maintenance of his own home.
In his younger years, Kevin also pursued another passion: music. As a talented drummer, he lent his rhythm and beats to various bands during his time at Del Norte High School.
Continuing in the footsteps of his peacemaking father Bud Sinkey, Kevin had an infectious zest for life that brought joy to those around him. His sense of humor could lighten even the heaviest of hearts, and his smile radiated warmth to all who knew him.
Kevin's absence is deeply felt, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. As he bid farewell to this world, he reminded us all to praise the Lord and reassured us that we will meet again someday.
The memorial service to honor Kevin will take place on December 16th at 10:30am at the Experience Church, located at 110 Quincy Street Northeast, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108. Pastors Clarence and Danette Davis will be presiding over the service.
