Kenneth grew up at the family’s homestead in Mountainair. While his father served in the US Navy during World War II, he lived in Carrizozo, NM with his mother and brothers. After the war, they returned to the Garrison homestead, where Joseph W. continued farming and Mary C. made a home for all her family.

A practician of many trades and a lover of learning, he later moved to Eugene OR, to pursue further studies in chemistry. While there, he learned beekeeping and got his first bee colony, since then, he started a lifelong passion for bees, founded Star G Honey Co. in 1971, and harvested honey for the rest of his life, obtaining multiple blue ribbons and gaining recognition in newspapers and specialized magazines.

Also, while in OR, he learned winemaking and traveled to Chile to make and teach local winemakers how to produce wine of fruits (other than grapes) in 1986.

After some years as a government worker in Santa Fe NM, he moved to Mosquero NM, to be close to his parents and family and stayed there until his last days, always accompanied by his Springer Spaniel dogs, whom he had loved and bred for decades.

Kenneth B. was preceded to heaven by his beloved brothers Hadley Rand and Billie Martin, as well as by his father and mother. He is survived by three sons and his daughter Mary C., as well as by his older brother Larry Wayne and wife Wanda, his younger brother Earnest Ward and wife Mary Helen, and many nephews and nieces.
