Kayla Ann Montano, age 28, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM. Kayla was born on February 17, 1994. Kayla was a beloved daughter, mom, sister and wife to be. Kayla was a beautiful soul, who was tormented by mental illness most of her life. Kayla suffered from Bi-Polar disorder and severe anxiety. However, on her good days she was a loving, caring person who touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by many in this community. Her tragic death took her from us way too soon.
Kayla is survived by her parents, Gracie Gonzalez and Chris Montano and her step-parents Lino Trevinio and Frances Montano, her daughter Naomi Grace Gonzalez, her siblings Kristina Montano and Francisco Trevinio and her fiancée Johnathan DeMatties. Kayla and John were to be married later this year. They had been together almost four years.
What Kayla was most proud of was her sobriety, she had been sober over 3 years and always said that she had to stay sober in order to stay in her daughter’s life. There is nothing that Kayla loved more than her child, while due to her mental illness, she was unable to parent her, she still loved her to pieces. You will be forever missed, Kayla Ann forever 28.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Trujillo Memorial Chapel at 12:00 pm.
