Jose S. Ortiz

Jose S. Ortiz, age 83, passed away on May 24, 2023.  Jose was born June 2, 1939, to Jose and Sophia.  Jose was a lifelong resident of Cuba, NM and was a proud military Veteran.  Jose also worked for the US Post Office and the Senior Center.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ortiz and Sophia Aranda, brothers, Paul, Fran k, Perfecto, and Juan.  Sisters, Maggie, Faustina, Edwina, Carmen, and Mary.  Jose is survived by his sister, Betty, ex-wife, Cecilia Atencio, son, Julian Hernandez, daughter, Monalisa Ortiz, grandchildren, Jordan, Lexie, Trinity, Mathias, great-grandchildren, Dionesio and Giovanni and many nieces and nephews.

Jose will be greatly missed as he went to be with our Lord to watch over us.  Funeral Services for Jose will take place in Cuba, NM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on June 23, 2023, with the funeral mass to begin at 11:00 am with a final ride through Cuba with the Cuba Fire and Police Departments assisting.   Reception to follow the final ride at the parish hall for lunch, slide show, and a final goodbye.
