In Loving Memory of Jose (Joe) T. Lucero

June 20, 1931 - February 9, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose (Joe) T. Lucero on February 9, 2025, at the age of 93. Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Albuquerque’s South Valley.

Born on June 20, 1931, in Torreon, NM, Jose was the son of the late Jesus Maria Lucero and Beatriz Otero Lucero. He met and married his wife Beatriz in the fiestas held in the small towns. His wife Beatriz Lucero preceded his death in 1996, along with his son Joe Jr in 2002 and great-granddaughter Miranda in 2022, and brothers and sisters. Together, they had six children, Mary, Geraldine, Jennie, Joe Jr, Linda, and David. 

He is survived by his children, Mary (Ignacio Montoya), Geraldine (Anthony Pacheco), Jennie (Leo Sanchez), Linda (Chuck Lees) and David Lucero (Elise Lucero), his brothers and sister, many nieces, nephews and 12 grandchildren (Naomi Pacheco, Diane Pacheco, Patrick Lucero, Michelle Pacheco, Brian Lees, Joanna Hunter, Matthew Montoya, Carrie Lees, Holly Guglielmino, Andrew Lucero, Sarah Payne, Michael Lucero) and great-grandchildren (Maria De la Cruz, Angelina Lucero, Estrella Lucero, Destiny Lucero, Lilyann Hunter, Michael Hunter) Great Great grandchild (Eli Burns). 

Rosary/viewing and Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 9:00 am at San Jose Parish at 2401 Broadway Blvd SE

12:15 pm Interment in Torreon, NM

Meal to follow at Torreon Community Center. Joe’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
