Joe E. Gallegos Jr.

Joe E. Gallegos Jr., age 67 of Rio Rancho, NM, was called to be with Our Lord from his home on June 21, 2022. He was the only son born to Joe Duplido Gallegos Sr. and Delovina S. Segura of Albuquerque, NM on January 22, 1955. Joe had one older and two younger sisters. He attended Bernalillo and Valley High School.

Joe married RobertaAnn Moya of Old Town, NM on September 3, 1971. They have been married for 51 years and have resided in Albuquerque, Sile`, Pena Blanca, Bernalillo, and settled in Rio Rancho, NM. Joe and Ruby had six children. Joe was a Jack of all trades, mechanic, a carpenter, building sunlight homes. His main passions was music. He was an amazing singer, and guitar player. He was a member and Cofounder of La Klee-Nika Band. He was a devoted catholic who also sang and prayed guitar for Our Lady of Sorrows Church choir, along with other churches funerals and ceremonies, the Comanchitos, a Third Degree Knights of Columbus member, and musico for over thirty years with the Matachines of San Lorenzo in Bernalillo, NM. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, star gazing, and was an avid gardener who planted trees in his yard, one for each of his children. Although, he was a hard and strict individual he was a loving man, especially when it came to his grandchildren. After his father’s passing, he became the head of his extended family and was a father figure to many nieces and nephews and was always there for people in need.

Joe is preceded in death by a set of twins pre-birth, both of his parents, and two sisters: Esther Segura and Lupita Katsuleas, as well as a nephew: Arthur (Tootie) Segura, and a niece: Valerie Lucero.

Joe is survived by his wife, RobertaAnn (Ruby) Gallegos, six children and two adopted children: Renee Gallegos, Damacio Gallegos, Eileen Herrera (husband) Manuel Herrera, Brenda Gallegos, Edwina Gallegos (fiancé) Gabriel Rodriguez Sr., Elyra Gallegos (fiancé) Vincent Quintana, niece: Marylynn Herrera and nephew: Isaac Herrera Grandchildren: Felicia GallegosSerbin, Chanisty Gallegos, Dominique Gallegos-Serbin, Damacio Gallegos Jr., Gabriel Rodriguez Jr., Josiah Santillanes, Christian Herrera, Vincente Quintana, Gracie Gallegos. Great Grandchild: Hennessey Gallegos. Sibling: Elizabeth Lucero. Uncle: Liberato Segura (wife) Ida Segura. As well as numerous other brother/sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and many God Children. Pallbearers: Damacio Gallegos Sr., Manuel Herrera, Gabriel Rodriguez Sr., Vincent Quintana, Damacio Gallegos Jr., Gabriel Rodriguez Jr., Josiah Santillanes, Christian Herrera, Isaac Herrera, Bennie Lucero, Alexander Katsuleas, Christopher Katsuleas, Raymond Moya, Larry Moya, Ricky Barreras, and Simon Gallegos Sr.
