Jennifer Lynn Klimka (West)

Jennifer Lynn Klimka (West), at the age of 41 passed away on March 28, 2022. Jennifer was a lifelong resident of NM except for her short adventure to South Carolina where she fell in love with the Smokey Mountains. She and her husband at that time returned home to Las Cruces with their daughter and their second child on the way. She was a graduate of La Cueva high school and NMSU, and a longtime fan of the Seattle Seahawks. She celebrated life with a vivacious presence and even in her professional work she found a passion helping others through her paralegal work. She connected with her clients and was deeply empathetic understanding the struggles they were going through.

She was preceded by her grandparents Betty and Charles Jonick and Nap and Erlinda Duran. She is survived by her husband Jon Klimka of Albuquerque, her two children from her first marriage, AJ and Sophie of Las Cruces, her step-son Jack, and a lively pup, Loki. She is also survived by her parents, Joanne and Joseph Duran, her sister Kerrie Lovins, and her niece Nora. She leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jennifer had many joys and passions in life, some were the short walks in nature, movies, books, sharing stories and painting. She loved cooking and Halloween and so much more than we could share in this short time. She was a force, and like all forces of nature, they come to their own moment of silence. And so it is, there is a silence that can be deafening for those that love her, but she has settled into the afterlife. She undoubtedly arrived with the same flare that she arrived in our presence; bold, beautiful and brilliant.

In the big picture, we are all connected woven together and she has carried our heartstrings with her and we can still feel her presence within our hearts. She is missed, loved and honored. Thank you Jen, for the joy, laughter and love you brought to us all. There will be a private service for immediate family on April 9, 2022.
