James R. (Randy) Jones, Sr.

James R. (Randy) Jones, Sr. age 79 of Albuquerque went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2025. Randy was born on August 12, 1945, in Rushville, Illinois. His family moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1952. He graduated from Penn High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Navy as a CB. He was a Vietnam veteran. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to Indiana and married Lois Rice, who survives. He is also survived by his children JR Jones, Jr of Mesa, Arizona and Jennifer Jones of Albuquerque, his grandchildren Brendan Jones, Arianna Rockwell and Hades Jones and great-grandchildren Scarlett, Spencer and Sebastian, his sisters Martha, Elizabeth, Mary and Nancy and brothers John and Amon. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Emogene Jones, and brothers Fern, David, and Jacob. 

Randy moved his family to Albuquerque in 1998 to escape the cold and snowy Indiana winters. Randy loved woodworking, hot air ballooning, and Notre Dame football. He was a loving and caring husband and father. He will be greatly missed. 

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana
