In Loving Memory of Jacob (Jake) Stout

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jake Stout after a long illness on February 24, 2025, at the age of 49. Jake was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and fiancé to Angela. Jake was born to Douglas Frederick Stout and Debra May Hile (Shultz) in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 18, 1975.

Jake was a motorcycle mechanic, computer repairman, and a gifted information technology (IT) entrepreneur. Jake’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. Jake is a graduate of DeKalb High School, the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI), and Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). From a young age, Jake possessed an innate understanding of how things worked, particularly computers and motorcycles, and possessed a strong aptitude for science and mathematics; this passion ignited a lifelong dedication to mastering the intricacies of engines, machinery, and IT. Jake’s talent was not merely a skill; it was a calling, and his ability to diagnose and repair any IT challenge was unparalleled, making him a trusted and invaluable resource to all who sought his expertise.

Jake's adventurous spirit led him on journeys across the United States. A spontaneous trip to Albuquerque for a wedding unexpectedly became his permanent home. He embraced the city, establishing deep roots and building a thriving business. Beyond his mechanical and computer prowess, Jake was a natural entrepreneur. Jake successfully founded and operated Jake's Hallmark-The Cable Place, a testament to his sharp intellect, relentless work ethic, and keen business sense. Jake possessed a remarkable talent for electronics and a knack for problem-solving, earning him the respect and loyalty of his customers and peers. Beneath Jake’s outgoing demeanor lay a man of unwavering strength and determination, he approached every challenge with a thoughtful, methodical precision, never yielding until a solution was found. Jake’s kindness, generosity, and dry, witty humor endeared him to all who knew him. Jake had a unique ability to make people feel seen and valued.

Jake is preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry and Bonnie Shultz; Robert “Bobby” and Audrey Stout; and brother Aaron Stout. Jake’s cherished father Douglas Stout (Christine) passed away within days after his son due to a short, but terminal illness. Jake will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Debbie Hile (Lynn); brother Ben; his beloved fiancée and longtime girlfriend of 17 years, Angela; and his adored niece Halia; and a host of extended family and friends. His legacy of hard work, passion, and genuine kindness will forever live on in our hearts.

A private celebration of Jake's life will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jake's honor to Wings for Life,
