Isaac Jacob Martinez

Isaac (Ike) J. Martinez, a devoted Catholic and beloved member of his community, passed away on June 8th, 2023, at the age of 84. Born on December 29th, 1938, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Isaac was born to Isaac J. and Margaret Martinez. His early years were filled with adventure as he explored the town of Santa Fe alongside his brothers and sisters.

Isaac completed his education at Saint Michael's High School in Santa Fe after attending Catholic schools throughout his youth. His faith was deeply ingrained in him, and he strived to incorporate the teachings of Catholicism into every aspect of his life. Isaac found solace in attending services at the Tridentine Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel and maintained an extensive daily prayer ritual.

Isaac is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Margaret Martinez; siblings Cecelia Jiron, Joe Martinez, Felipe Martinez, Milton Martinez, Crucita Garcia, and Vincent Martinez; as well as his two sons Steven Eric and Peter Isaac.

He is survived by Donna, his loyal companion for many years; his children Margaret Louise Gonzalez and Leonard Allen Martinez; his siblings Marcella and Anastasio Valdez; Leonard and Barbara Martinez; Robert and Helen Martinez; and his sisters Vangie, Frances, and Martha.

In reflecting upon Isaac's life-long journey of faith and recovery, we find comfort in the words he held dear: "We know that God lovingly watches over us. We know that when we turn to Him, all will be well with us, here and hereafter."

Isaac Jacob Martinez will be remembered as a devoted Catholic, a beacon of inspiration for recovery, and a beloved companion, father, sibling, and friend. May he rest in eternal peace.
