Irene Marie Trujillo

Our beautiful Irene Marie Trujillo, beloved daughter, sister, and mother gained her wings, on January 23, 2023. Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Irene was born December 13,1990 in Hemet, CA surrounded by her loving family and when her grandma Nanny came to visit at Christmas, she was sleeping under the Christmas tree in her bassinet. At age 7 Irene moved with her parents and brother to Raton, NM where she grew up surrounded by family and friends.

Irene was known for her big heart by everyone who knew her. She was an amazing mother and took excellent care of her babies while she had them and we all know she is watching over them now. Though losing them was the hardest thing she ever had to go through she lovingly realized that her children would be better off in the care of the families that adopted them. Irene knew how to open her heart like no one else. She always stood up for her loved ones and was loyal and courageous.

Irene had many passions and interests and was free spirited. She loved to sing and dance and be around all her friends. She loved doing her makeup and was very fashionable, making sure her outfits always matched. She loved to make everyone around her look their best and feel their happiest. She also loved being a matchmaker as she loved seeing other people at their best and happiest. Irene faced many hardships in her life and struggled with mental illness. She often wished things would go back to the way they were when things were simpler for her but still, she faced her problems head on fighting back her fear along the way. Irene’s name means peace and she is at peace now and is with her grandparents watching over her loved ones. She will always shine brightly in our hearts.

Irene was preceded in death by her grandmothers Juanita Perkovich and Clarissa Grim and grandfather, David Trujillo (Blue). She is survived by her son Benjamin and daughter Natalie, mother, Laurie Economou Sanchez and father, David Trujillo, brothers Joey, Anthony, and Michael and sister Gabrielle, and her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Irene on March 11, 2023, at 5:00PM

at Albuquerque Three Angels SDA Church
