Mrs. Ignacita (Lovato) Trujillo lovingly known by many as Agnes, born June 10, 1941, went to her resting place on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the age of 83. Agnes was a resident of Albuquerque’s South Valley all her life and was born and raised in Los Padillas to Adelino and Ramona Lovato. She had five brothers and one sister who proceeded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband Pete Trujillo. Agnes is preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Ramona Apodaca. She missed her daughter tremendously and now she can join her in Heaven. She is also survived by her two children, her son Pete Trujillo Jr. and wife Anna and her daughter Christina Gallegos and husband Paul. Agnes had six beautiful grandchildren who she loved greatly: Paul Gallegos Jr., Briana Trujillo, Marianita Trujillo, Michaela Apodaca, Aidan Gallegos, and Breale Gallegos. Not a day went by when she wasn’t thinking about her children and grandchildren. She had many relatives and friends whom she loved talking to on the phone.
Pete and Agnes were married for over 65 long years. They met each other in Magdalena NM and haven’t been apart since. They spent almost every moment with each other and treasured all those moments. They spent many long hours watching their novellas.
One thing Agnes loved was to peel her green chile. She was always asking every late summer “are they roasting chile yet?”. Whenever she bought chile she always made sure she had some fresh bologna from her favorite meat market Nelsons so she can make her famous bologna and green chile sandwich, along with a slice of tomato. She always peeled chile for her children so they didn’t have to do it. Her freezer was always full of red and green chile for her children to take home. She loved to cook and always had something delicious to eat. Her grandchildren loved her yummy delicious sopapillas.
Agnes loved her New Mexico music and would always listen to KANW. She loved calling and dedicating music. She would sit in her room and listen to her music.
