Ignacio "Nash" Herrera

Ignacio "Nash" Herrera, 87, passed away surrounded by his family on March 31st, 2025, in Albuquerque, N.M. Ignacio was born on November 13th, 1937 in Manzano, N.M. to Antonio and Manuelita Herrera. After high school, he went to work with the Laborers Union, and shortly after that, he became a Union Iron Worker. He liked doing yard work, watching old western movies, going out to eat with his family, taking and picking up his grandkids from school, and listening to music.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debby Nancy Herrera; his parents, Antonio and Manuelita Herrera; his brothers, Augustine and his wife Annie Herrera, Roberto Herrera, Antonio Herrera Jr.; Eddie and his wife Loyola Herrera; sister, Tillie Herrera Brummell; and brother-in-law, Carlos Sanchez.

He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Frances Herrera; his two sons, Michael Herrera and wife Graciela, and Anthony Herrera; his daughter Elizabeth Herrera; his sisters, Isabel Sanchez (Carlos), Diana Apodaca and husband Mike, Cecilia Sanchez and husband Eloy, and Gloria Paez and husband Eppy; his brothers, Arturo Herrera and Debbie Maldonado, and LeRoy Herrera and Ramona Montoya; his sister in law, Marie; his grandsons, Joshua Herrera and Jacob Herrera; his granddaughter, Amelia Herrera; his great-granddaughter, Joshlynn Herrera; his step grandkids, Gabby and husband Fabian Escajeda, Grace and husband Abraham Muñoz, Alan, Audrey, Andrew, Alfredo, Andrea, and Alex; and his step great-grandkids, Aliyah, Addison, Azirah, Ariah, and Arielle; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Thursday April 10, 2025 at Trujillo Family Funeral Home, 110 Alvarado Drive SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 from 5:00pm -7:00pm. Services will be held on April 11, 2025 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Lomas and Tennessee with the rosary beginning at 10:30am. 

Pallbearers will be Joshua Herrera, Jacob Herrera, Arturo Herrera, LeRoy Herrera, Danny Brummell, and Alex Hernandez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshlynn Herrera, Amelia Herrera, Andrea Hernandez
