Gilbert Padilla

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gilbert Padilla on June 11, 2023, after a 3-month fight following his heart attack and stroke. He was born on September 24, 1949, to Eva and Polidor Padilla. He was a truly exceptional human being who touched the hearts of so many with his kindness and warmth.

Gilbert was a loving husband to Linda, a devoted father to his children Jerry, wife Dianne, Jenny, husband Jason, Tony Ray, wife Melanie, Johnny, wife Gilberta, and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jaiden, Jacob, Mandy, Noah, Joshua, Christian, and Jillian. Gilbert is survived by his brother David, sister Tina, and husband Raymond, sister in law Debbie, and husband Pelon, sister in law Dora, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family members. He loved his very special niece Rayleen and her daughters Ava and Elllie who brought him so much joy. He also held a special place in his heart for his wonderful friends, Joe and Sandy, who were family to him and whose friendship he deeply appreciated. Gilbert and Joe are brothers in spirit, a bond forever unbroken.

Gilbert and Linda were inseparable all 55 years that they were together. He did everything and anything for her and she was the light of his life. Gilbert’s family was always of his utmost importance. He loved watching all the grandkid's games and events. He was an avid Lobo fan and loved traveling, especially to Vegas. His smile and laughter will be forever missed.

A rosary will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church located at 619 Copper Avenue NW. This will be followed by a mass at 9:30 am. Following the mass, entombment will take place at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery (7999 Wyoming Blvd NE). After all services, there will be a reception at Gilbert and Linda's home, located at 7100 Isleta Blvd SW. Guests are welcome to drop in anytime between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to celebrate Gilbert's life and offer their support to his family and friends.
