April 29, 1939 – November 11, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gilbert Martinez who was called home on Nov. 11, 2024, to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 85. 

Gilbert was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather and great grandfather known for his passion for family togetherness, leaving great memories behind. 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice. Together, they built a life rich in love and family values. Gilbert is also survived by his four children; Susan Gallegos, Yvonne Sanchez and her husband, Joseph, Gil Martinez, Debbie Vigil and her husband, Gene; his grandchildren, Mikey, Adam, Michelle, Matthew, Nichole, Alyssia, Gillyanna, Dominic and his 10 great grandchildren.

Gilbert was a man of integrity and patience, a man of his word and touched the hearts of everyone he met. His life was marked by his commitment to his family and his unwavering dedication to those he loved. Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of kindness, generosity, as well as his deep love of family and friends, lives on in each of us.

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Pena Blanca, NM

December 7, 2024 

Rosary @ 11:00 am, followed by a Mass
