It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of George Anthony Meeks, who left us on February 16, 2025 at 77 years old after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was a man with intense generosity of spirit and cherished every moment he spent with his loved ones.
George was born on July 5, 1947 to George and Lala Meeks in Albuquerque, NM. George was an avid golfer, fisherman and had a great passion for Dutch oven cooking. He traveled throughout the state to compete in Dutch oven competitions, often walking away with the prize. He was particularly proud of his service in the Air Force, during which time he fought at Vietnam to defend our country.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Meeks, his mother, Lala Meeks; and niece Katie Herrera. He is survived by his wife, Sue Meeks; his daughters, Jessica Lusk and her spouse Frank Falcone, Lisa Sanchez and her spouse Anita Sanchez; his grandchildren, R.J., Aiden, and Lyla; siblings Juanita Dunlap and Nick Meeks; nieces Maria Brito, Ashlynn Meeks, and Meghan Wilson; as well as nephews Colton Dunlap and family and Joshua Meeks and family.
