Galvin “Gabby” M. Torrez

Galvin “Gabby” M. Torrez, 74, of Seboyeta, NM, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Galvin was born on April 14, 1948 to David and Rupe Torrez in Seboyeta, NM.

Galvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcy, his son Terry and wife Ericka, his daughter Tracy and husband Geoff; his four grandchildren, Teryn, Isaiah, Alaina and Samantha; step grandchildren, AJ, Aysia, Loren, Marcus, Tristan, also Amber Nichole who preceded him in death; his brother Jesus who preceeded him in death; his sister Linda, her husband Dory and his sister Lupe; Sisters-in-law Lupe, husband Harry, Lucille, husband Macario; Brothers-in-law Prudencio, Bernie, wife Charlene and Toby, wife Beatrice and many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Galvin worked for Continental Divide Electric Co-Op for 30 years. Galvin’s passions in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved fishing. Growing up he loved horseback riding and enjoyed teaching his children and would give anyone who wanted a ride on his beloved horse, Quint. In his later years, one of his greatest pleasures was riding in his side-by-side to visit his prima Eufelia and his friend Venencio with his beloved “Kobe” by his side. Galvin didn’t like traveling very much but he made an exception to go watch his beloved Dallas Cowboys a couple of times back in the day and had quite an adventure getting a ride back to the car after the game all on his own. IYKYK!

Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.

Our daddy was a true role model who we will always look up to. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Seboyeta on Saturday, July 23rd at 9 AM. Burial will follow at the Seboyeta Cemetery. A reception will be held for all at the Seboyeta Community Center following the burial. Pallbearers: Geoff Valdez, Teryn Lee Torrez, Michael Anzures, Toby Dean Martinez, David Casaus, Isaiah Torrez, Louie Chavez and Josiah Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers: Boney Chavez, Elias Molina, Richard Anzures, Frankie Garcia, Felix Gonzales, Alan Roane, and Venencio Armijo.

Galvin/Daddy/Grandpa you are now at peace, you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
