Freddie “Moose” R. Martinez
MARTINEZ – Freddie R. Martinez (Moose), 48, passed away on Sunday, April 9th, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM surrounded by his family. Moose was born on September 27th, 1974, in Socorro, New Mexico to Justy and Eileen Martinez. He is survived by his son Freddie Jr., daughters Jaenee, Justeen, Jay’Leen, Justus and Jayda Martinez; sisters Roslyn (Angel Garcia), Geraldine (Tommy Garcia) and Pauline Martinez all of Socorro, NM; his four grandchildren, Sydney Leland, Khaliah and Azaela; nephews Jason Jones, Jadrian “Bobs” Martinez and “Little” Angel Garcia; nieces, Kailee, Justice Biancia and many friends and relatives including his BEST friend, Halo.
Moose, a life-long resident of Socorro and a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed playing baseball, barbecuing his favorite, green chile cheeseburgers, listening to music, going to the casino, partying with the Grant Streeters, making others laugh and spending time with his family and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents.
The Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 9:30 with a Mass of Resurrection following at 10 am at San Miguel Catholic Church. Father John will be the Celebrant along with Deacon Mike Ybarra and readings by Lala Chavez. Burial will take place at the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery next to his parents. Pallbearers are: Tim Gutierrez, John Rosas, Daniel Chavez, Benji Maldonado, Richie Chavez and J.J. Elwood. Honorary pallbearers are: Angel Garcia, Jadrian Martinez, Lil Angel Garcia, Jason Jones, Leland Martinez, Tommy Garcia, Andy Anaya, Robert Contreras, Trini Romero and his best friend, Halo🐾
