It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother Frederico Gerald Gomez Sr. , eighty-seven years old on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.
Fred was a devout catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He contributed his many talents to the church community. Fred gifted the church with his beautiful guitar playing and soothing melodic voice. He was able to share his God given talent of music to lead his own choir which performed at many masses in the praise of our Lord. Fred served as President of Parish Council of Our Lady Of Guadalupe. He contributed his talents as an artist and painter to Our Lady Of Guadalupe. He painted many beautiful banners and signs that were used for the masses. He also constructed and painted a beautiful Nativity creche which was kept on display for Christmas. Fred’s talents and gifts were many and he selflessly and generously shared them with everyone.
He will be sorely missed by all who had the chance to know him. Fred is survived by Maria (Pita), his beautiful, loving wife of 66 years. He is also survived by his five children, Shirley (Ernie) Martinez, Fred Gomez Jr. , Andrew (Irene) Gomez, Annette (Anthony) Marquez, Loreen (Marc) Pacheco. Fred is grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Rosa (Garcia) and his brothers Wilfred, Alfonso, Richard and sister in laws Maida & Betty Gomez. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Chris, Gilbert (Faby), Danny (Cindy), Jeanie Gomez and his sisters Georgia and Deborah (George). Fred has numerous extended family members, Garcia and Gomez from New Mexico, mainly Santa Rosa. The Pallbearers are Anthony Marquez, Marc Pacheco, David Anaya, Justin Gomez, Chance Gomez, and Noah Pacheco. The Honorary Pallbearer is Ernie Martinez.
Fred’s services will be held on August 9th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. 10:30 am Rosary, 11:00 am Funeral Mass followed by a reception and 2:30 pm burial at Mt. Calvary.
Floral tributes may be sent to Our Lady Of Guadalupe. Fred’s footsteps can never be filled, nor his love forgotten. He has a new home in Heaven and will be missed by us on Earth.
