Fred A. Chavez

Fred A. Chavez, age 77, life-long resident of Albuquerque, son of Ambrose V. and Mary Louise Chavez, died on April 27, 2023. He was devoted to the RCIA Program at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Fred felt that bringing souls to Jesus was his calling, which brought him much joy and fulfillment. He enjoyed working with clay and would kindly give his work to friends and family as gifts. His quick wit, sense of humor, and love for family and friends will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his four sisters, Theresa Villareal and husband Al, Helene Cash and husband Lee, Cecilia Zoch and husband Henry, Rebecca Munson and husband David, and his close friend Sandy Chavez. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Peter and parents. Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of The Assumption Church in Albuquerque on May 26,2023. A rosary and mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by a private internment.
