It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Eralia B. Gonzales.

Eralia was born on January 22, 1929, in Sedillo, New Mexico. She celebrated her 96th birthday with loved ones at her bedside. 

She gained her angel wings on January 31, 2025 and was reunited with her husband, Evidelio Gonzales, parents Jacobo and Anita Baca, her brother Mike (Jenny) Baca, her children, J. Julian Gonzales and Anita Gonzales, her grandchildren, Janet Mae Rendon, Antoinette Gonzales and Joe Gonzales.

She will be remembered for her enduring belief in God and the catholic faith, for her wisdom, her deep love for her family and for her laughter and silliness.

She was a Laurete, known for her composition of poems and songs for weddings and special occasions. She loved to sing and dance and was well known for her cooking and feeding everyone who entered her home. Her love and kindness will never be forgotten and she will be dearly missed by everyone.

She is survived by her children: Elpidio "Paul" Gonzales, Herman Gonzales (Gloria), Santos Gonzales (Charlotte), Maybel Gasca (Ronald), Howard Gonzales, Carl "Tony" Gonzales and Elaine Gonzales. Her brother Braulio Baca and her dear sister Lupita Garcia. A special Goddaughter Armida Griego, 12 Grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are her beloved grandchildren, Herman Gonzales, Jacob Gonzales, Kevin Rendon, Davy Martinez, Josiah and Marcos Gonzales. 

Honorary pallbearers are Philip and Nathan Gonzales,Caleb and Lucas Martinez and Timothy Gonzales.

The family of Eralia would like to express their gratitude to the hospice nurses and Father Granito, family and friends who helped, visited and brought food and prayed with us. 

Services for Eralia B. Gonzales will be as follows:

San Isidro Catholic Church

241 Sedillo Road, Tijeras, NM

Saturday, February 22, 2025

Rosary - 9:00 am

Mass - 10:00 am

Burial will follow after mass at the San Isidro Cemetery.

Reception to follow.
