Drexel Doolin, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother, transitioned from this world to his eternal home on the evening of July 4, 2024, at the age of 91.

Drexel lived a life marked by integrity, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to his family and country. He was a devoted, caring, and attentive husband to his wife, Amelia Doolin, for 70 years. He exemplified love and commitment, always putting his family first. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and mutual respect.

A proud patriot, Drexel Doolin served his country and community with distinction both as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later as a New Mexico State Police Officer, recognized and awarded Officer of the Year, for his commitment to the safety and service to the community.

His courage and sense of duty were evident in every aspect of his life, and he carried these values with him during his lengthy career with the United States Government in Vietnam, Washington D.C., Louisiana, Nevada, and Colorado.

Drexel Doolin was a man whose Christian faith guided his actions and decisions. His strong moral compass and integrity were evident to all who knew him. He was a man of his word, known for his honesty and loyalty. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family, whom he cherished deeply. He left a legacy of family who strive to live up to his moral standards, a testament to the values he instilled in them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amelia Doolin; his children, Stewart Thurman Doolin, Lola Doolin Cross (John), and Donna Mirachi (Joe); his grandchildren, Michael Patrick Doolin Jr. and Andrea Elizabeth, and his great-grandson, Matthew Elijah all of whom carry forward his legacy of love, service, and integrity.

His absence leaves a void that will never be filled, but his spirit and the values he lived by will continue to guide us. We find solace in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

We grieve, but not as those without hope, for as believers in Christ, we know we will be united with our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather when we too are called to our eternal home.

Rest in peace, Dad. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
