Daniel Sedillo, Born 1945 in Sorrorro and died April 1, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM. Daniel was a beloved member of his family, a wonderful father and faithful friend to many. He served in the US Army, and later completed his degree in University Studies at UNM. He taught industrial arts briefly and then began working for the NM state department of labor where he eventually retired.
Daniel was our modern day Renaissance Man: He could make or fix anything mechanical or electrical, he was a registered clown; long-time woodworker, served as a bartender and volunteered as a karaoke DJ at Senior Centers and at Sandia Ridge Long-term Care Facility where his sister Janis resides. He loved to sing; either at karaoke or in church choirs. His cooking was much loved and his bread much prized.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Roque Ramos Sedillo and Martina Silva Sedillo. He is survived by his two children Patrick (with wife Simone) and his daughter Victoria; and his two granddaughters Stella and Sophie Sedillo, his siblings Orlando and wife Jeanette Sedillo, Sister Sylvia Sedillo, SL, sister Rosina and husband Jack Sena, and sister Janis Sedillo. He is missed but we look forward in faith to see him again. In lieu of flowers or donations, please do an act of kindness in his memory.
There will be two events to celebrate his passing, a funeral with prayer service at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, June 13 at 11am, and a celebration of life at Elena Gallegos open space facility (Kiwanis shelter) in Albuquerque on Friday, June 14 at 11am. (Casual dress - as he would like it.) We look forward to reminiscing about the wonderful man he was with family and friends.
