Daneen Marie Koppenhaver was born on February 20, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She moved with her family to Albuquerque in 1974. She graduated from Manzano High School in 1985. She joined the Navy in 1988 and was stationed in Oakland CA. She left the Navy due to health issues and she made her permanent home in Albuquerque, a place she loved.
Daneen was a very kind and loving individual with a huge heart. Her favorite thing to do was to shop for gifts and cards for friends and relatives. She never missed a holiday or birthday, and when she traveled she delighted in buying souvenirs for her loved ones. She was a truly caring daughter, sister, and friend.
Her favorite color was pink and she loved sparkly jewelry and clothing. A testament to the sparkle and light in her loving heart.
Her presence, and her smile and laughter will be dearly missed by her mother, Joann Brawley, her brother and sister, Craig Koppenhaver and Becky Koppenhaver, her nephews, Max and Milo Orona, brother-in law Anthony Orona, her friend Len Schwab, her beloved cat, Charmie, and all of her extended family and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson St. NE, Friday, September 20, 12pm.
A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Monday, September 23, 9am, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe.
