Bertha M. Sprowl (Chavez), went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2024 at the age 87.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith. Born on July 27, 1937 in Dalhart, Texas and raised in New Mexico, she was born to parents Ambrosio and Mollie Jaramillo. She is survived by her sisters Lucille Clement and her two sons , Jeannie and husband Matt Silvester and their two children; as well as two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and her sister -in-law, Ligita Solano. She was a loving mother of 7 children: Rudy and spouse Monica Chavez, Carmen and spouse Jeff Pricer, Gloria Chavez, Juanita and spouse Lorenzo Dominguez, Marcos and spouse Rachel Chavez, Theresa Chavez and Sylvia and spouse Jesse Hoover, along with 21 grandkids, 31 great grandkids, and 4 great great grandkids.
She lived a long, beautiful life. Bertha had a great love for all her children as well as her compassion for others. She handed her wonderful traits down to all of her children. She was passionate in helping those in need in the community and at church. She spent much of her life serving others and feeding the needy. She displayed to them love, kindness and empathy. Her energy and beautiful smile lit up any room. We loved when she serenaded us with her singing, she had such a beautiful voice. She had an outstanding sense of humor as well. Bertha cherished the time she spent with all her children and gave them an inheritance that will last a lifetime, JESUS! Her favorite scripture was Luke 6:31 “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
Bertha leaves a beautiful legacy of love and kindness. We stand in peace knowing that she is in paradise with our Lord Jesus Christ. Fortunately, she was surrounded by all 7 of her children and many grandkids as the Lord called her home. Bertha’s “Celebration of Life” service will be at New Beginnings Church at 4770 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 pm She will then be laid to rest with her late husband, Harold Sprowl, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 12:30 pm. We love and miss you “Mamacita” and we will never forget how much you love us.
