Bernie Cano, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on July 1, 1950, to his loving parents Stella Chavez and Frank Cano. Bernie's departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him best.
Throughout his remarkable life, Bernie touched the lives of many with his warm heart and vibrant spirit. He shared 46 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife Maria Elena (Padilla). Bernie's legacy lives on through their children: Consuelo Cano/Rocco Intriere and their children Roman and Rocco; Bernardo Cano/Alissa and their children Noah Mateus and Elias; and Mario Cano. Family meant the world to Bernie, and each moment spent with them was cherished dearly.
Professionally, Bernie flourished as the Owner of Glassworks in Albuquerque from 1984 to 2019. Bernie's larger-than-life personality could light up any room he entered. His infectious laughter and genuine kindness were the hallmarks of his character. He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who crossed his path.
As we bid farewell to Bernie Cano, let us reflect on the joy he brought into our lives. Though he is no longer physically with us, the memories we shared will continue to live on forever in our hearts. As we mourn this tremendous loss, let us find comfort in knowing that Bernie has found eternal rest. May perpetual light shine upon him as he journeys into eternity.
