In Loving Memory of Avedon “JR” Montaño
JR Montaño, age 71, passed away on April 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1953, he brought immense joy to those around him.
JR touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. His kindness, jokes, and fun personality are what he will be remembered for most. His dedication to his family and his community has had a positive impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. JR coached YAFL football for 20+ years at all different age levels. He was lucky to be able to work with and help mold many young men within the football community but also in everyday life.
JR Montano is preceded in death by his loving mother Ramona Montaño and his father Avedon Montaño.
JR is survived by his loving family and friends, who will forever hold dear his memory. He is survived by his sons, Stevie Montaño and Nicholas Montaño, his daughter Maxine Romero, his stepdaughter Katrina “Trina” Hattery, his grandchildren, Brittany Montaño, Kylah Guerra, Alexis Yamamoto, Jasmine Montaño and his great-grandchildren, Aliyah Montaño, Alex Montaño, Emerie Guerra, Riley Yamamoto and Ezra “Ez” Guerra. He is also survived by his brothers Marty Montaño & Johnny Montaño as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate JR’s life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024,11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM.
May JR rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may his memory continue to bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
