Anthony "Lil Tone" Elifas Maldonado Jr.

Anthony (Lil Tone) Elifas Maldonado Jr. passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 47.  He was born on May 16, 1975 in Albuquerque, NM to Anthony and Petrita Maldonado.  He attended West Mesa High School and graduated in 1993.  Anthony easily made friends wherever he went.  He loved to laugh and have a great time.  He was a strong, spirited man who was loving and kind, stubborn and rebellious, had a good sense of humor and the biggest smile.  Anthony enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, and early on, coaching his son in little league baseball and basketball.  Anthony had a big heart and loved unconditionally.  Though Anthony’s journey was difficult, he was never alone.  His struggles were shared by many.  May he now rest in peace with Him, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.  As he always used to say, “I love you with all my heart.”

Anthony is survived by his partner, Yvette; son, Jacob; parents, Anthony and Petrita; sister, Renee (and husband Phil Baca); nephew, Phillip; nieces, Elora and Estelle; aunts and uncles; and many cousins and friends.

A visitation for Anthony will be on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, starting at 9:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr SW 87105.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 9:30 am and Mass at 10:00 am.  A reception will follow at the parish hall.  Anthony will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE 87107 at a later date.
