Alfred Torres

Alfred Torres, age 80, passed away peacefully in his home November 22, 2022. He was born January 31, 1942 in Socorro, NM and lived briefly in California and ultimately Albuquerque, NM for the remainder of his life.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Torres, Sr. and Maria Herrera, stepmother, Josie Torres, sisters Jennie Torres and Frances Lopez, brother Tony Torres, and grandson, Michael Duran, Jr.  

He is survived by his wife, Lourdes Torres; children, Lou Duran, Alfred Torres and wife Maura, and Aisha Valencia; grandchildren, Nikkie Hill, Sarah Hoza, Andrew Torres, Emily Torres, Juan Carlos Valencia, Natalia Valencia; great-grandchildren Blake Hill and Lydia Hoza; siblings Felix Torres, Jerry Torres, Jennie “Lulu” Torres, Della Vega, Theresa Del Curto, Sandra Aerts, Christopher Torres, Thomas Torres, Douglas Torres as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Alfred was a veteran of the Air Guard and National Guard, enjoyed a successful career as a Mason and enjoyed every minute of his 18 years in retirement where he spent most of his time nurturing his expansive yard, working in his garden and enjoying his hobby of woodworking. 

Services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Rio Grande Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5200 Iliff Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105; reception to follow immediately afterwards.
